Foot Warts are a type of infection caused by viruses. Warts can grow on all parts of your body, but are most common on feet and hands.
On the sole of the foot they are called "plantar warts". Plantar is the scientific term for undersurface or the bottom of the foot. They have a rather rough surface, and can be unsightly. They do not usually hurt, although they may itch.
Warts may be passed to another person when that person touches the warts. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects that were used by a person who has warts. It is a virus that causes warts and they can be picked up from direct contact or in swimming pools or changing rooms.
Untreated warts can grow to more then an inch in diameter and spread to clusters of warts or even to the other foot. Infection can come from skin that may shed from another wart which includes either your own or someone elses wart infected skin. On the bottom of your foot warts can be painful.
